by dan, Wednesday, November 17, 2004, 00:27 (7102 days ago)

Hi,

Was wondering if this componenet talsk to both SSH, SFTP and FTP servers. Or does it only work to secure servers?

Thanks

Dan,

which one? wodSFTP is only SFTP - meaning SFTP as subsystem of SSH protocol - thus secured.

Hope I helped.

OK. So wodSFTP.NET won't talk to an FTP server without SSH installed. For example over port 21?

Thanks

Yes, you need SSH server. But FTP (on port 21) is really bad example here - there's no point in forwarding (and securing) FTP since there is SFTP already installed as subsystem of SSH on all SSH2 servers. So, why use home made secured tunelling when you get packaged one?
