In order to display hidden files you should send:
a
or
-a
parameter with LIST command. Probably LIST command is send without any parameter.
Can you please change that option in your client and let us know how it goes?
I have just tried to send a parameter in LIST command using our wodFtpDLX (FTP client) and it works for me.
