wodKeys.dll (General questions)

by Chad Amberg @, (7563 days ago)

Having a slight issue with PuTTYGen keys and wodkeys.dll. If I create a key with PuTTYGen, it works just fine. However, if I read it in, and change the password, and resave it, it completes sucessfully, however I am not able to ever read in that key again. One customer even reports that it causes an access violation when trying to reload the key.

BTW, you may want to create a forum just for wodkeys, since it exists in many of the different activex controls...

Thanks, Chad

Chad,

hmm, I think this could be possible with Putty generated keys. I am not sure, but I think it sometimes uses negative biginteger values, and X509 is unable to save them. I didn't go deep into X509 and OpenSSL private key save functions to be correct.

Can you send me one such key and I'll check it out? YOu can send it to techsupport@weonlydo.com . Just don't send any production keys, please!

This was our error afterall. It is now fixed, wodKeys will open Putty keys (and save/load them later on) correctly.
